Let’s give it a go

In Places, tap Add to create your home.

Open it and add a room. For a car or garage, go straight to storage.

Add storage, such as a cupboard or shelf, and a box if needed.

Add your item. A photo helps you recognise it but is optional.

Search for its name in Find, then open its details.

Your storage spot and box each have their own code too. Copy it from their details and type it into the same search to see what’s inside. “One code to see what’s inside” also explains the camera.

Open a storage spot, container or moving box. Look for “The code to write on it”. If you created it offline, reconnect and sync to get its code.

Copy all 6 characters in large, clear capitals with a marker, or use a small label on furniture. The hyphen makes it easier to read. No printer needed, and no code to invent yourself.

In Find, type the code into the usual search field. Lowercase letters, spaces and hyphens work too. Open the result with “See contents”. You need an Internet connection to look up the code and check your access permissions.

A storage spot shows the items stored directly in it and the containers it holds. Open a container to see its own items: the cupboard’s code and the box’s code refer to two different storage spaces.

To avoid typing, tap the camera icon on the right of search. Allow camera access, frame just the code in good light and hold the phone steady. With your permission to use AI, an image is captured automatically and sent to Google Gemini to read the characters. There is no shutter button to press; reading can take a few moments.

Check the suggested code in search before opening its contents. If several codes are visible, choose the right one. If reading fails, move closer, improve the lighting or type the code. The same camera also reads Céoù QR codes, so printed labels are still an option.

Moving a box? Open its details, tap “Move this container” and choose its new storage spot or room. All its items and nested containers move with it, and the code stays the same. For a box in an active move, use the moving workflow.

Open an item page and tap “Add a receipt”.

Photograph the till receipt — or import the PDF the shop emailed you.

Note the seller, the purchase date, the amount, and the warranty end date if the item has one.

One receipt can cover several items. Open it from the home’s Receipts screen and add them: each keeps its own amount and warranty.

From another item page, choose “One already saved” to attach it to the same receipt without photographing the paper again.

The “Without receipt” tab lists everything with no proof yet. The export button, at the top, builds the complete file.

In Places, open Organise a move and create your move.

Choose the starting place and destination.

Create a box, add a photo and pack your items into it.

Write each box’s permanent code on it with a marker. To see its contents, type the code into search in Find or use the camera on the right: it automatically reads the writing or QR. Printing labels is optional.

On arrival, switch to unpacking and choose where to put each item.

In Profile, open Friends and invitations to find your friend code.

Your friend enters it or scans its QR from Sharing, then Add a friend.

Accept the request. Becoming friends does not share any places.

Open their details and choose permissions for each home: view, edit or owner.

Change these permissions whenever needed.

In Profile, open My preferences.

Choose Français or English for the language.

Turn dark mode on or off, or let Céoù follow your phone.

Choose a text size and check the preview. It applies straight away.
